UPDATE January 2023

The First Principle Project, emphasizing "all beings" began in 2013 and many years before that the Reverence for Life Program under the leadership of the Unitarian Universalist Animal Ministry. The most recent draft version of the Principles and Purposes includes both "all beings" and "reverence." These changes won't be affirmed until two different General Assemblies vote to pass them, in 2023 and 2024. Here below is the section referred to and the entire report can be found here: shorturl.at/jpHRS. Interdependence. We honor the interdependent web of all existence. We covenant to cherish Earth and all beings by creating and nurturing relationships of care and respect. With humility and reverence, we acknowledge our place in the great web of life, and we work to repair harm and damaged relationships. May we find a way to truly live up to our values.
